First things first: I know alec is gay but this is AU.
THAT MEANS DIFFERENT UNIVERSE SO MAYBE HES BISEXUAL IN THIS ONE OKAY?!

PLOT:
elena and alec are parabatais but things stir up when elena starts having feelings for him and her friend (caroline) realizes as well. alec is oblivious to this but finds out when he overhears a conversation about him where she admits her true feelings.
alec confronts elena, angry that she would keep this from him since they would tell each other everything. things are tense between them until during a warlock's spell to contact a demon alec has to reveal the person he loves the most, and its elena.
later that night they talk and he admits he has feelings for her too, but he can't risk everything for them, since parabatais can't fall in love, it's against the law. elena however doesn't regret it and says so, causing alec not being able to resist any longer. unfortunately their love is discovered by alec's parents, who inform the council to put a stop to it.
during the trial however it is contended that, although against the law, they can't punish two people for loving each other, and the charges are lifted...
