Kamaicha an old instrument with its origin in Persia, evolved in the desert of thar in the hands of Manganiyar community. The instrument is now a rarity as very few kamaicha artists are left. Dappu Ji was one of the last of kamaicha players. We can listen to the 150 year old Kamaicha once played by his Grandfather then his father and now him.

Dappu Ji left for Heavenly Abode on 13th March 2021
