Documented in part with the original order form, invoices and warranty transfer copy, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is a genuine original Yenko Super Camaro, one of approximately 201 famously ordered by Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Chevrolet dealer and racer Don Yenko through GM’s Central Office Production Order (COPO) program. As specified by Yenko to Chevrolet Marketing Manager Vince Piggins, the Yenko Super Camaro was factory equipped with the COPO 9561 Package featuring the 1966 Corvette L72 Mark IV V-8 engine, which incorporated a forged rotating assembly, 11.0:1 compression, a high-lift, high-duration, solid-lifter camshaft, high-flow cylinder heads and a Holley 800 CFM 4-barrel carburetor on a Winters high-rise aluminum intake manifold to produce an official rating of 425 HP at 5,600 RPM, figures that supplanted the original factory rating of 450 HP at 6,400 RPM. The COPO 9561 Package also included the ZL2 special ducted hood, curved-neck, four-core radiator and F41 special performance suspension.

As a “Double COPO” example, this Yenko Camaro also incorporates the COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion Package, which contributed power brakes with front discs, a 13/16-inch front sway bar, a heavy-duty Code BE 4.10 Positraction differential and a 140 MPH speedometer. Finished in Rally Green with a black vinyl top, white Yenko graphics and black standard interior with sYc-labelled headrests on bucket seats, it is also optioned with a Muncie M21 close-ratio, 4-speed manual transmission, front and rear spoilers, Goodyear F70-15 Polyglas GT tires on 15x6-inch Rally wheels, and Stewart Warner tachometer and auxiliary gauges. As befits a classic of its caliber, this superb Yenko Super Camaro is further documented with a valuable COPO Connection report and certificate, a copy of the Yenko VIN list and production metrics, copies of previous titles and vintage photographs.
