This is the ITV Central News report broadcast on Mon 2 Mar 1992 into the serious crowd trouble which took place during the Blues v Stoke match on Sat 29 Feb 92. Blues fans poured onto the pitch following a controversial goal scored by Stoke in the final minutes of a tense and highly charged match. The Match Referee Roger Wiseman was assaulted and the Blues fans then attacked the Stoke fans in the Tilton Road end of the ground. The match was initally thought to have been abandoned, but after the ground had been completely cleared of all spectators, the two teams were brought back out to play out the last few minutes in front of a deseted stadium. The final score was 1-1.
