CBT for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

Описание к видео CBT for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

What is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)? It is a specific form of CBT called exposure and response prevention (ERP). It consists of getting exposure to - or facing - those situations that trigger obsessions and then resisting the urge to engage in the compulsions. By embracing uncertainty and facing their anxiety, clients can begin to reduce the impact of obsessions and compulsions on their lives. As always, exposure-based treatments need to be done under the care and guidance of a mental health professional.
