Aprilia RS 125 Strip Down - Workshop Series (Silent Zen Video)

Описание к видео Aprilia RS 125 Strip Down - Workshop Series (Silent Zen Video)

The Aprilia RS 125 2021 is an excellent bike for starters or for experienced riders. It's lightweight and high revving. It's best in class for performance in the 125 category. Driving around town you don't need much more power because of speed limits and speed humps.

This bike is best suited to a taller rider approx 5.8 to 6.2 ft tall. Weight for non adjustable suspension approx 10 to 13 stone for best performance.

Back in the workshop, I'm stripping the bike down to service the engine, fuel system, suspension, brakes and tyres. The bike is due for it's first MOT and I'd like to check the tightness of the nuts and bots as they sometimes rattle loose. I'll inspect everything else as I go.

At this point I've removed the fuel tank and fuel lines. I'll remove the injector next to flush the system to remove blockages and debris. Looking inside the body of the bike the yellow quick release connector on the top of the engine goes to the injector if you're interested.

I'd like to see the battery and the fuse box moved to a more accessible location as it's hidden underneath the fuel tank.

I've removed the fairings to inspect the aluminum frame and the lower rectangular shaped tube frame that supports the engine. The lower part is made from steel. I'm inspecting this and the alloy for hairline fractures as I'm unaware of the bikes history.

Next I'll drain the oil and change the filter. I'm going to use my own blend of synthetic oils to remedy a rattle from the engine as the oil gets thin when the engine gets hot.

I'll check the brakes front and rear and replace the pads if needed. I tend to use the rear brake a lot as it prevents the bike dipping forward a little less than the front brake. When the bike dips forward it pressures my wrist and makes it jar. It can cause long term injuries.

The suspension on this bike is set to a manufacturer standard as it is not adjustable at the rear. If you don't fall within the weight category the bike is not for you. For example, I estimate this bike is best suited to the weight category of 10 to 13 stone. If you're too light you won't benefit from the suspension. If your too heavy you'll bottom out the suspension. If the suspension is too hard for you take a tiny bit of air out of the tyre to create a cushion or replace it with an adjustable suspension.

I'm replacing the rear tyre, it's a Michelin Pilot 140 / 70 / 17 costing £130 for the S version. The S / Standard version is for a single rider without passenger but it costs more. The passenger version costs less at around £100.

Next video is setting up a quick shifter in detail.

Thanks for watching my video's, love you, stay safe.
