On 24th October 2025, Pakistan’s federal cabinet — led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif — has officially banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The decision follows evidence from the Ministry of Interior showing TLP’s repeated involvement in violent protests, arson, and attacks on law enforcement.
Authorities will now have power to seal offices, freeze assets, and restrict leadership movement nationwide.
Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari clarified this action targets violence, not religion — emphasizing a broader crackdown on hate speech and illegal arms.
