What happens when your spirit animal is a lazy, talking sloth with an urgent mission? You write an album, of course.
(Film Synopsis)
Maxwell (Richard Hollman) is on the verge of a complete nervous breakdown. His life is going nowhere, and the recent death of his father has left him with a strange inheritance: a sloth sanctuary. As if that's not enough, he's visited in his dreams by Edgar, a talking sloth (voiced by Jack McBrayer) who tasks him with a single mission: save his habitat.
To raise the money needed to keep the sanctuary afloat, Maxwell must return to his long-abandoned passion for music and write an entire album of songs about sloths. With the help of his skeptical but supportive siblings (Brian McCarthy and Ava Eisenson), Maxwell embarks on a bizarre and hilarious journey of self-discovery, viral video creation, and musical catharsis. "Songs for a Sloth" is a unique and heartfelt comedy about family, finding your purpose, and realizing it's never too late to pursue your dreams... even if it's at a sloth's pace.
