Dr. Kitamura's father is an orthodontist, so he grew up around the field of dentistry and knew that he wanted a career in which he could help others. So, after earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of the Pacific, he continued on to complete their dental school. After earning his dental degree, he received additional training during a general practice residency at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu and discovered his love for oral surgery. He went on to complete his residency in oral and
maxillofacial surgery at the Carl Foundation Hospital in Illinois.
