Tomato - 6 Nos

To Make Masala Paste
Grated Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Green Chilli - 2 Nos
Fennel Seeds - 1 Tsp (Buy: https://amzn.to/2u1p6rl)
Roasted Chana Dal - 2 Tsp (Buy: https://amzn.to/37WWRsA)
Cinnamon (Buy: https://amzn.to/31893UW)

Water

Method:

1. For the masala paste, take grated coconut, green chillies, fennel seeds, roasted chana dal, cinnamon, clove and cardamom.
2. Add water gradually and grind it all into a fine paste. Keep it aside.
3. Take oil in a wide pan. Add cumin seeds, whole spices (bay leaf, cinnamon, stone flower & mace) and saute.
4. Add chopped onions, pounded garlic cloves, curry leaves and saute until the onions are golden brown in color.
5. Add in chopped tomatoes and mix well. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and cook for a few seconds until the rawness goes off.
6. Add water to the masala, cover the pan with a lid and cook the gravy for 10 mins.
7. Add in the ground masala paste, mix and cook for 2-3 mins.
8. Add in water and check for seasoning to add salt if required.
9. Cover the pan with a lid and cook the gravy for another 10 mins.
10. Finally add the chopped coriander leaves and turn off the stove.
11. Tomato Kurma is ready to be served hot with roti or any main dish of your choice.

Tomato Kurma is a very simple gravy recipe which can be enjoyed with any rotis, biryani or even south Indian tiffins like dosa, idiyappam, idly, parotta etc. This recipe comes handy when there are no variety of vegetables at home, so you can literally make this one with tomatoes, a few spices and condiments.
