Beware of Toxic Friends
Self absorbed people like to bring drama'
Those who thrive on drama will turn on YOU

Ever had a person in your friend group who has to bring the latest gossip? They stir up drama? They secret exclude people in your group?

As we get older, we have a lower tolerance for B.S. and these people who create issues and cycle through friends will eventually turn on you too.

I had this happen and I did not see it coming...but I should have. And it taught me that petty people who need to be the center will shake up even long term friendships, blame it all on the other person, and try to get the rest of the group to come along. Then they act like none of it was real or not a big deal.

My new rule is I do not let people who lead this way in how they treat others get too close...as I know they will do it to me. Infact, all the people who choose to stay close to the asshat say "well, you know, that is just how they are". Well maybe....but why put up with people who hurt others and do not care.

Yes, sure...you can say "well maybe you were annoying".... YEP..I am. So maybe I am wrong and deserved to be treated like nothing from someone I felt was a forever friend..... but observe the world.... people like this exist and far too often we enable their bad behavior. Sure, each situation is different, but a toxic asshat is just that. Toxic. And when their close friends all acknowledge they are just a jerk....that is fine. I have a "NO ASSHAT RULE".

As I get older and work to make age 50 to 75 the best years of my life...I have gotten good at accepting my faults, and learning from them. But I have also gotten good at recognizing asshats.
