Last May we were invited with Murat Aydemir, leading Tanbur player from Turkey, to perform in Granada at the Festival of Musica Antigua. We could not resist the beauty of the 13th century Alhambra and recorded a piece by one the most important composers of Ottoman Classical music Zeki Mehmet Ağa (1776-1846). His Ferahfeza Son Peşrev is probably one of the most known songs in this repertory; his Peşrev is less known but equally splendid. In this rendition we combine the two pieces enchanted by the beauty of the scenery...
