PTV Vissim & Viswalk: 5 modes of transport with 200 people each – Why 200?

Описание к видео PTV Vissim & Viswalk: 5 modes of transport with 200 people each – Why 200?

200 people each pass a traffic signal in various modes. For this simulation with PTV Vissim, we assumed that all vehicles are fully occupied. All other input parameters like desired speed, acceleration etc. have typical values.
With these assumptions the queue of cars is still the longest with 268 m compared to 52 m for busses, 38.5 for trams, 116 for cyclists, and only 27.6 for pedestrians.
However with a discharge time (time until the last has passed the signal stop line after the signal has turned green) of 116 s it takes longest for the cyclists to cross the line, whereas fully occupied cars achieve 72.4 s. Still, busses (14.2 s), trams (9 s), and pedestrians (38 s) prove to be most efficient means of transport where space is short and frequent stops are common.
