The Hawa Mahal is known to be a palace in the Jaipur City of Rajasthan, India. Built with the help of red and pink sandstone, it is located on the edge of City Palace, Jaipur, and it extends to the Zenana, which is also known as women's chambers.
1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, who was the grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, who founded the Jaipur City. It is said that he was quite inspired by Khetri Mahal’s unique structure that he finally planned to build this grand and historical palace.

Hawa Mahal was designed by Lal Chand Ustad. Its 5-floor exterior appears like a honeycomb with 953 small windows called Jharokhas that are decorated with intricate latticework. The original intent of the lattice design for allow royal ladies to watch everyday life and festivals that were being celebrated in the street below without having been seen, as they strictly had to obey the rules of "purdah" system, which did not allow them to appear in public without face coverings. This architectural feature also allowed cool air from the Venturi effect to pass through, thus making the whole area more pleasant during the high temperatures in summer. Many people see the Hawa Mahal from the street view and think it is the front of the palace, but it is the back.
