In a significant advancement for India's scientific research capabilities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched three PARAM RUDRA supercomputers, part of the government's initiative to enhance self-reliance in supercomputing technology. With an investment of approximately ₹130 crore, these supercomputers will be developed indigenously under the National Supercomputing Mission and deployed in Delhi, Pune, and Kolkata. Each location will leverage the supercomputers for groundbreaking research, including exploring fast radio bursts in Pune, enhancing material science research in Delhi, and driving advanced studies in physics and cosmology in Kolkata. Equipped to address various domains such as weather and climate, computational fluid dynamics, and bioinformatics, this initiative marks a crucial step in boosting India's computing power and capabilities.
