Smokeless Fire Pit Build

Описание к видео Smokeless Fire Pit Build

We needed to spend more time outside, so we built a fire pit. The goal for this was to be a smokeless fire pit. It does fairly well AFTER the fire has been running for a while.

A few things learned:
1) contact cement dissolves foam core board (7:14 in video)
2) using 16d nails pressed into the foam holds the sides extremely well (7:22 in video)
2) silicon caulking works well to fill the gaps created by the holes in the foam board due to the contact cement (not included in any of the video)
3) great family fun!
4) duct tape DOES fix everything - the areas I needed to use it to reinforce the broken inside bend (8:15) didn't show up in the concrete
5) having someone bend the foam (8:19) while attaching 16d nails was a HUGE help and prevented the board from snapping

Overall, I'm extremely happy we went with the smokeless version. We've had 2 fires in the pit and not once (after the fire was going) did we have smoke blowing in our face. It was outstanding! It was fun to see how hot the pit gets that there are flames shooting out the holes cut in the steel ring. I will be sealing the concrete cap after the concrete has cured for a week, I'll probably use: https://thd.co/3xpirCL because I can't find a 1 gallon item at Sherwin Williams.
