We had a great day fishing the Willamette River for spring chinook. This was not only my first Willamette River spring chinook, but also the first fish I got to tag so far in 2019. I learned a lot about fishing for spring chinook from David on this trip, and I hope you all learn something to and you can get out and catch your own spring chinook salmon! April, May and June are the best times to catch spring chinook on the Willamette River, and now that the Columbia River will be closed, get out on the Willamette and give it a try!
