SWEET SIX! Mk1 Zephyr & more head to Crewe Heritage Jan 2024

Saturday prep on our '56 Standard 8 opens this video, prior to Sunday's drive over to the Crewe Heritage Centre - in convoy with Mrs OCC in our MX5 - for the Centre's first "Off The Rails" classic car morning meet of 2024.
I wasn't sure how many people would turn up given that so many cars (and their owners) are tucked away until the return of warmer weather. Happily there was an excellent turnout, including quite a few cars we hadn't seen before. Highlight of these was a very sound, if paint-challenged, Ford Zephyr Mk1 that purred in mid-way through the morning and parked up alongside a brace of Citroens that were new to us also. Result!
Our black Standard 8 was parked alongside a black Austin A35 for the duration of the meet-up, enabling various comparisons of these two small mid-1950s saloons to be made, the A35 was joined by a fine grey 2-door A35 part-way through the morning, also a new "sighting" for us.
January is typically a very quiet time for classic car shows and meet-ups, so we've been lucky to get to and video several over recent weeks (please see the recent uploads for them).
