Big music = Big fun! That’s what Big Sounds Amsterdam is all about. This biennial festival highlights large ensembles playing adventurous music. Music that allows for improvisation, bold ideas and otherworldly sounds. In this new era for large ensemble music, Big Sounds is at the international forefront. In 2027 we welcome you again in Amsterdam!

The Amsterdam venues and institutions have joined forces with the country's largest big band, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, to bring the big sound to the entire city. Expect innovative crossovers, heritage projects, composition commissions, surprising double bills, workshops, and a fringe program with activities for young music lovers.
