This assignment requires  you to choose a company in any of this three industries: Airline, Car manufacturing &  Hotel industry in the UK (your lecturer will confirm which insdutry has been assigned to you) and write a report which answers the following questions:

Identify and explain the value of business analytics to your chosen             organisation in relation to the following areas:
Customers
Suppliers
Forecasting
Identify and explain the appropriate types of data (minimum of 3) that would be needed by management to assess the performance of the sales department in your business.

Reviewing the current operations of your chosen company, recommend a mimimum of three changes that are needed for your company going forward to fully maximize the benefits of business analytics.

1        Part-1: Value of Business Analytics in Airline Industry
1.1     Business Analytics

The fame of the analytics is increased extremely in previous decade, rocketing in top for corporative agenda; by claiming that “data is the new oil” can be “refined” for extracting unprecedented values (Brown et al., 2011). However, in a business field, the “data deluge” is sparking the attention of each industry in developing capabilities for extracting perceptive knowledge and with the help of data for achieving the companies may get competitive advantages. But this newest data source is often very large and complex that discarded and generated on such speed which renders the traditional analytic method as useless to extract meaningful results, novel methodology while the processing technique are given the rise for recent era used in the business decisions making, as referred in business analytic researches (Mortenson, Doherty and Robinson, 2015). Business analytic can be concerned through contexts, as in business analytics, the above techniques can apply on large data1 for making sounder and more evidences-based decisions of business (Seddon, Constantinidis and Dod, 2012). Conclusions by the business analytic could enable prescriptive descriptive, and predictive “model building” by using real-time, diverse and large data sourcing (Hindle and Vidgen, 2018).  In many communities are cited importance of the business analytic like the opportunity which can “promote the [. . .] profession and expand its reach” by authors (Liberatore and Luo, 2010) as well as it also improves effectiveness and prevalence of OR activities to enhance business values” (Vidgen et al., 2017).

Even “big data” was started for using as advanced technical mainstream options for any industry in 2021; various enterprises were still undeceiving in the adoption. Such condition was confirming emergence to conduct further studies for exploring driver behind very complicated procedures of the adoption of “big data context” as described by authors (Brock and Khan, 2017). Thus, so far, the big-data is gained the considerable amounts of the attention by researchers (Gupta et al., 2018). However, limited researches were explored a significant determinant of the organizational intentions for adopting these technologies.

The adoptions of “big data” or business data analytics are dependent on technological, environmental, organizational, and managerial factors along with good influence on the firm’s performances (Verma et al., 2017). Whereas, ranking and adoptions of factors could be assisted to the policymakers and stakeholders in focusing very important factor in managing resource and budget with adoption procedure.
