Quick way to identify Hen or rooster?

The number one question I hear these days. HEN OR ROO? Well here is a short video showing you how to see the difference.
Easiest way I have found is to check the saddle feathers. A hen will have rounded feathers and a rooster will have long sharp feathers. The different saddle feathers start to form when the birds are around 4-5 months old. Sometimes you can see them as early as 3 months. Long before they crow. In young chicks you can also often tell by observation of their personality. Young roosters will often try and show each other up. Often chest pumping and or chasing each other. I have seen this in roosters as young as 2 months old. Hope these tips help you answer your rooster vs hen question a bit easier.
