🎓 Eligibility Criteria:
For Master's Degree Holders: Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy + M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Pharm./MS (2-year) or M.Sc. in Engineering with 55% marks.
For MCA Graduates: At least 65% marks in aggregate.
For 4-year Bachelor’s Degree Holders: Minimum 75% marks.
Relaxation: 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD/EWS.
📄 How to Apply:
Pay Rs. 500 per department via SBI Collect under “FET Ph.D. Application Fee 2025”.
Download and fill the application form from the JU admission portal.
Submit the form with supporting documents and payment receipt between 24 July – 11 August 2025 to the Office of Dean & Secretary, FET, 2nd Floor, TEQIP Building, opposite Gandhi Bhawan, by hand or post.
Superscribe the envelope with “Application to Ph.D. (Engineering/Pharmacy) Programme 2025”.
📝 Documents Required:
Self-attested copies of mark sheets and certificates (Secondary to Master’s)
Aadhaar card copy
National level exam certificates like CSIR-NET, UGC-NET, GATE, GPAT, etc.
SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS certificate (if applicable)
Two passport-sized photographs
Payment receipt from SBI Collect
🧪 Entrance Test & Selection Process:
Candidates qualified in national exams (UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/GPAT/CEED, etc.) are exempted from WRET.
Others must appear for Written Entrance Test (WRET).
WRET Syllabus: 50% Research Methodology + 50% Subject-Specific.
Minimum 50% qualifying marks in WRET (45% for reserved categories).
Selection Weightage: 70% WRET + 30% Interview
For exempted candidates: 70% National Test Score + 30% Interview
Candidates must secure 50% in both entrance and interview to qualify.
🪑 Reservation Rules:
Reservation as per Government of West Bengal norms.
WB Domicile is mandatory for claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS seats.
OBC candidates must provide updated Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (issued after 19 June 2025).
PwD category requires 40% minimum disability with proper certificate.
EWS applicants must provide income and asset certificate issued after 01 April 2025.
