Tamiya Falcon First Full Run After Semi Restoration

Описание к видео Tamiya Falcon First Full Run After Semi Restoration

I got this car in a lot with a Nikko dictator way back in 2016 when I first got back into RC for the first time since childhood.

It had suffered the common breakage at the front bulkhead, and being pretty much clueless about working on RC stuff at the time, I just put it on a shelf and left it there for a rainy day.

Fast forward 8 years and I woke up one day and just decided it was time to get it running. I basically just did what was necessary to get it running. The transmission and shocks got a full rebuild and I added bearings.

To fix the damage, I combined a 3d printed lower bulkhead with the Ampro upper and lower braces, all strung together with 50mm machine screws right through from bottom to top like a shish kebab.

This is still very much a work in progress but I'm really pleased with how it drives.

I found the suspension a bit over damped and the rear over sprung, so I put the 4 hole discs inside and used softer oil. I also added approx 150g of weight to the rear of the chassis to simulate the weight of the AA battery pack and MSC servo that would have once been there. This has made the suspension much better, and the rear end now has a much nicer ride and hugs the terrain better.

Thanks for watching! And if you're a return viewer, thanks for sticking around, even though I've had very little content recently. Life sucked for a while, but it's getting a bit better, now!
