Selective Dry Cow Therapy: 11 Years Milking with Lely Robots

Описание к видео Selective Dry Cow Therapy: 11 Years Milking with Lely Robots

Christian Von Teichman is milking 120 cows in Co Wicklow. He installed Lely robots 11 years ago and has used the information available to implement selective dry cow therapy across the herd for the past eight years. For the past two years he has only used 35 antibiotic tubes across the herd at dry-off which equates to less than 10% of teats receiving an antibiotic tube. The farm operates a spring calving grass-based system with an eight week calving period. Herd EBI is €240 with cows producing 7,500 litres on average in 2023 and 601kg of milk solids.
