Faisalabad Metro Bus Project Starts | Electric Buses With 500 Passengers for 3 Routes Covering 32.5Km | Sun LO

After a long wait, the Faisalabad Metro Bus project has been approved and work is underway. The project, estimated to cost Rs 70 billion, was announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in May 2025 and is expected to be operational next year, 2026.

The main objective of this initiative is to provide a modern and efficient transit solution for the growing urban center of Faisalabad. The project also includes the integration of 100 green electric buses, i.e. electric buses, exactly the same as the ones you see in Lahore city at present. Remember, this project is part of a wider “Faisalabad Development Plan”, which is based on the urban development model of Lahore.

The project will be 32.5 km long, have 11 main stations and more are being identified, about 100 buses, including electric buses, will be operated on this route. There are 3 routes:

#1 Kamalpur Interchange - Samundri Road
#2 Narwala Ada - Satyana Road
#3 Jhang Road – Jaranwala Road

All routes will be connected to a central station at Red Crescent Chowk Faisalbad.
