Major Incident Day short film

As we honour International Nursing Day, we proudly release a short film made by one of our students, James Reece, documenting our Major Incident Day.

Our students worked in a range of areas including Emergency Departments, wards, ITU and mental health liaison. This year, our simulation focused on the aftermath of a coach crash, involving approximately 60 casualties. Some students played the role of casualties along with young people from two local schools. Each causality had their own backstory and 'character', enhancing the realism of the simulation.

Through this immersive experience, our students refined their assessment skills and developed crucial communication and collaboration in emergency situations. They gained invaluable insights into the complexities of responding to major incidents, preparing them for the realities of their future roles in healthcare.
