Mummy Maze Deluxe - Classic Mode Playthrough

Описание к видео Mummy Maze Deluxe - Classic Mode Playthrough

Time to beat this childhood game of mine once again.

Never bothered with the Ankh crutch since you won't be able to survive if you rely on it and then have it wrested away from you when the game switches to larger maze size from Pyramid 6 onwards.

Pyramid 15 is certainly harder than Adventure Mode's puny medium size darkness maze (although if you happen to remember all layouts for large size maze, then the darkness is rather a minor inconvenience).

Still haven't managed to get past 300,000 points, and I probably won't be able to.

For those who are curious: your rank at 300,000+ points is "Mummy God", and if somehow you manage to get past 4,792,712 points (using Cheat Engine for example), the game will simply crash.

Original web Java applet version of this game can be found & played through Flashpoint (the Adobe Flash preservation project, not related to certain event in a certain comic).

Fun fact: there are solvers available for this type of game. Heck, the game itself comes with a solver too (how'd you think the game's "Abandon Hope" in Classic mode and Ankh work?). With this info though, it kinda makes sense that the Ankh isn't available on larger mazes (more challenging notwithstanding) since average PC back in the day ain't such powerhouses and being a rather light casual game, Popcap probably didn't want to tank the game's performance checking if the maze's still beatable after every move.
