삼촌에게 보내는 마지막 편지


Dear Uncle,
I was devastated to hear the news of your sudden passing. It feels like the world has collapsed around me.

Just a day before, we talked on the phone for 30 minutes through Mom's phone. Your voice was healthy and cheerful, and you seemed more energetic than ever, planning how you would tend to your garden in the coming spring.

Who could have imagined that would be our last conversation?
I still can't believe you're gone. It feels like a dream, and I keep expecting you to come home and make us laugh with your witty jokes.

You were more than just an uncle to me. You loved me unconditionally, and you were a crucial advisor, friend, and companion in my life.

You were always there for me, from my childhood. You comforted me when I was down, guided me when I was lost, and rejoiced with me when I was happy.

You played a significant role in my growth and made my life richer.
You loved your countryside garden. There, you were like a king in his kingdom, happy and content.

Your face lit up with joy as you worked the soil, planted flowers, and harvested fruits. You shared the happiness you found in your garden with us, and that happiness is deeply embedded in my heart.

You also enjoyed drinking. With a glass of wine, you would share stories from your past, a warm smile always on your face. Your stories gave me wisdom and showed me the joy of life.

I regret not telling you how much I loved you often enough. I took your love for granted and didn't fully realize its preciousness. Now, I'm left with only regret and sorrow.

But I know you will always love me. Your love will remain in my heart forever.
