A few people asked for a video on Sweaty Betty on the other app, with the assumption that their fabrics are really good.
Whilst they may feel good to touch, I fear this was mostly the result of a brand saying an awful lot about doing the bare minimum and what they are “trying” to do. From my own looking, their best sellers are dominated by virgin plastic.
There’s lots of promises which also seem pretty lack lustre, and the actual detailed information required is also very corporate with insufficient information on supply chains.
Another thing I notice about these activewear brands is the way they promote overconsumption with more and more colours, and producing in large volumes. The sheer amount of options is crazy for their leggings.
Can we start to tell people they don’t need a different colour of leggings for every day of the month?
Is £65 a reasonable amount to pay for a pair of 100% plastic leggings, made in a country with far lower wage laws than the UK, with merely a trade-in scheme for more buying incentives? Is it just another Lululemon?
