A frameless thermoplastic mark is attached to the patient’s head to hold it in place. Then, an MRI or a CT scan is done to find the exact location of the tumor. Based on the type and location of the tumor, the radiation dose is calculated and delivered appropriately. The patient can go back home on the same day.
