We know from professional and personal experience that women are often the leaders in their families and communities. We think this is especially true when there’s an emergency, they help push their loved ones to be prepared.

The state recently did research around this long-known concept and found that women, not only are women the key decision makers, but they would benefit from more outreach to ensure their families were ready for a disaster.

In recognition of March as Women’s History Month, California is launching, through the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES), a campaign known as Listas, which empowers women with the necessary knowledge and tools to prepare their families and communities for disasters.

During this briefing you will learn about the state’s on-the-ground outreach to at-risk communities, receive a comprehensive social media toolkit with over 80 pieces of digital assets and learn about helpful preparedness tips.
