This is one of the first poems I published when I started blogging on Steemit. It was written on June 22nd, 2017. I've edited it somewhat here and made it into an animated handwritten video!

The effects and mixing were created in Garageband, and I used a Blue Yeti microphone to record my voice.

"What is this Blinding Radiance?"

Subtle rivulets of being
cascading through filters:
I must have been dreaming.

The betrayal of my dignity
happened gradually—
something sinister lurking beneath,
threatening me with insanity.

Just how many characters dwell
inside the organic hull, this blood vessel?
Contending for dominance, screaming their piece:
cosmic drunkards at the swill.

Reminding me all too clearly
of times when tears being restrained or unable to fall
scarred the invisible countenance of my innocence.

Masculinity demanded so much of me
be locked up: or so I was led to believe
by a fiction of a fiction— mere hearsay.

Whence comes this
restoration of my clarity,
ascending gently luminous:
Have I awoken? To what world?
And when
shall I have true rest?

Adamantine cube of density,
melting in the primordial furnace.
What is this blinding radiance?
And what wants it—
with me?
