Carbon Sinks | Did You Know? | THRIVE

Описание к видео Carbon Sinks | Did You Know? | THRIVE

Carbon sinks are systems that absorb more carbon from the atmosphere than they release. Examples include oceans, soil and plants. Without carbon sinks, carbon concentrations in the atmosphere increase, contributing to global warming. Currently, deforestation and burning carbon-storing minerals and rocks like coal are removing carbon sinks. If we are to reach the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement, countries will need to work out how to increase the efficiency of carbon sinks at removing carbon from the air.
