The natural fiber reinforced composites market is expected to grow at 5.7% CAGR from 2022 to 2029. It is expected to reach above USD 4,546.02 million by 2029.

Natural fiber reinforced composites are combinations of natural fibers and matrix materials. natural fibers such as flax, hemp, jute, kenaf (hibiscus cannabinus), sisal and bamboo are used in this composite. The most common form of natural fiber is staple fiber, from which short strands are extracted and spun into coarse yarns and combined with other non-fiber components, including resins and pitch compounds, to form new hybrids for use in composites. It can produce organic macromolecular substances.

Segment Analysis

By fiber type, the market is segmented into wood fiber composites, non-wood fiber composites. Wood fiber composites include softwood and hardwood. Softwoods are coniferous or evergreen trees that produce wood with a low density, e.g., spruce and pine whereas hardwoods are deciduous trees that have broad leaves such as maple, mahogany, oak, etc., with high density.

Non-wood fiber composites natural fibers derived from regenerated cellulose including viscose rayon, lyocell, and modal fiber; natural man-made organic polymer such as polyethylene terephthalate (pet); bio fibers like jute/flaxsisal blend strand; and natural inorganic fibers like carbon fiber (e.g., graphite), glass, aramid, etc.
