“ALI | BEYOND THE RING"

This semi auto-biographical play is focusing on boxing legend Muhammad Ali while spotlighting the very social fissures—a devastating identity struggle, mounting racial conflict over the thwarted promise of civil rights and the resistance against war. This play highlights similar struggles around the world for human rights and equality. It draws parallels to the Indian cast struggle which started after independence and continues to present day.
The times when all progressive advances human kind made during the age of enlightenment era are reversed due to growth of right wing conservatism; this play is a reminder of the idea that all humans are equals.
Ali-beyond the ring set as a play based on theater of cruelty draws the sketch of human struggle as team against the belief systems, discrimination and government sponsored repression. This play is a reminder to team up and fight against the civil and political atrocities.

Center for contemporary art is an organization of creative persons in Kochi. It includes writers film makers theater personalities artists actors musicians sculptors etc .it is envisaged as a space for open talks performances discussions rehearsals and screenings.
