THE BAHRAIN FORT (QAL AT AL - BAHRAIN) Part - I

Описание к видео THE BAHRAIN FORT (QAL AT AL - BAHRAIN) Part - I

I’m 14 years old and live in Bahrain, and yesterday, I visited Qal'at al-Bahrain Fort with my family. It was a special outing because we were joined by my uncles' family, who have been living in Bahrain for a while. The fort, standing proudly near the coast, is full of history and I felt like I was stepping back in time. My dad explained how the fort was once a center of the ancient Dilmun civilization. My sisters and I explored the ruins. My uncle, who have lived here for many years, shared interesting stories about Bahrain’s history and culture, which made the visit even more meaningful. It was a fun and educational day, surrounded by family, and I felt proud to be part of such a rich heritage.

Qal'at al-Bahrain or the Bahrain Fort is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Portuguese came to Bahrain in the 16th century to control sea trade with ships and fortifications along the coast, including the great Portuguese fort. As you can see in the video, the fort has a modern visitor center. From us clearly a trip tip!

Qal'at al-Bahrain, also known as the Bahrain Fort or Portuguese Fort, is an archaeological site located in Bahrain. It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in the Persian Gulf region, and it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.

The fort is located on a tell, or artificial mound, that has been built up over 4,000 years of continuous occupation. The tell is 12 meters (39 feet) high and contains seven stratified layers, each representing a different period of occupation. The earliest layer dates back to the Dilmun civilization, which flourished in the region from 2300 to 600 BC. The Dilmun were known for their trade networks and their role in the development of early Mesopotamian civilization.
