River Thames - Oxford to Lechlade 20

Filmed in July 2018 this video follows our progress upstream from Oxford to Lechlade. We were fortunate to enjoy this stunning length of the Thames in glorious summer weather. There is little, other than the occasional lock or pub, to break this journey as the river winds a tortuous and sometimes solitary path through open farmland, meadows and woodland to the current head of navigation just beyond Lechlade. I say current, because the still photograph of a "round house," featured in this video, marks the eastern end of the "Thames and Severn Canal" A canal that fell into disrepair and closure that is currently being restored by the sterling work of the Cotswold Canal Trust. When complete it will eventually link the two great waterways at Saul Junction
