If I get OPT, can I work in other states if I get a job offer?
OPT is what you get after you graduate on an F-1 Student
Visa. You could get 1 year of time to work
in the United States to get experience.
You can work wherever you want to, as long as the work is related
to what you're studying and your school's DSO - the international
office - Designated School Official approves it. So yeah.
You could work in other states. Go talk with your Designated
School Official because they have to update your I-20, the
SEVIS record.
You have to update your part, too, and also update your addresses.
It's a very important thing that people miss.
But yeah, you could do that kind of stuff and work in another
state. That's not necessarily an issue.
It's more about what kind of job it is, is the employer real?
And all that kind of stuff and doing the proper paperwork
for it.
