The main theme of this talk is hunger, hunger and hunger: which aspects of hunger relate to the great gnostic’s life and how are they relevant to our existence in this day and age?

1. The great gnostic spent over 40 years in a state of extreme hunger and thirst and after looking at all the good acts that a Muslim can do, he didn’t find an act greater than feeding the poor, the hungry and destitute. Another beautiful point made by Dr Ather Hussain Sahib is that the homeless and destitute perform a very important function in society - contrary to popular belief.

2. Hunger for knowledge - Gaus Paak had an immense appetite for knowledge (ilm) and it is up to us to seek knowledge, no matter how busy we are in our lives.
