A level crossing in the town of Burry Port a few miles to the west of Llanelli in Carmarthenshire. There are 'British Rail Western Region' motorised barriers at this level crossing, although the ones here are in an absolutely abysmal state as they are heavily corroded, rusted, and some of the motors are struggling to work the boom arms. One barrier almost re-raises itself to the point where it re-activates the alarms, but this sight was narrowly missed. The alarms at this level crossing are also rather loud, but owing to very old logic designed for the bells that were once here, they are completely silent at night.

A full-renewal of this crossing has been on the cards for quite some time now, though is finally due in the near future for the West Wales re-signalling scheme. These very tired, old barriers are soon to be replaced with US-Style 'S60' barriers come the full renewal of this crossing. The semaphores and mechanical signalling is sadly to be no more, as it'll likely all be colour light signals overseen from Cardiff. You'd bet the signal box here has an impressive lever frame given its size, but there is sadly no real vantage point of it from anywhere. An article online suggests it has 83 levers in total, but less than one in nine of those are still in use today.
