In this episode, we're building a really simple, 4017-based 5-step DIY sequencer. It's a great companion to my SHAPES VCO. if you want to build along, here's the bill of materials:

1x CD4017 decade counter
1x TL074 quad op amp
5x BC548 NPN transistor
5x LED
5x 100k linear mono potentiometer
1x 5k trimmer potentiometer
13x 1N4148 diode
10x 100k resistor
1x 68k resistor
1x 51k resistor
7x 1k resistor
3x jack socket
