A well spent day in a historical village of Malta - Mdina. It is also called a silent city of Malta.
Mdina was called the silent city when the British ruled Malta from 1800-1964. During that time period Mdina was inhabited mostly by old noble families, some artisans and the clergy. It picked up population when the nearby suburb of Rabat was used as a refugee center during the Second World War. After the war Mdina returned to its silence and property at the time was not so expensive there. It only became a tourist center when tourism started being developed especially after the island gained independence in 1964. Ever since that day Mdina has stopped being silent and its property is one of the most expensive in the Mediterranean Islands.

Mdina is also known for its scenes in all time favorite Hollywood Web Series "GOT" Game of Thrones.
