Aarey Colony's Rap Revolution: Kids Use Hip-Hop to Save Their Home

Deep inside Mumbai's last remaining jungle, Elijah Emmanuel is building a "kids' hip-hop army." Could their raps about nature be the future of the Save Aarey protest movement?

Brut journalist Neeti Upadhye went to Aarye to meet him and learn about the movement. Through education and music, Emmanuel is teaching children living in Aarey how to rap and beatbox, and how to be themselves. "This forest, and all our natural ecosystems, can only go forward if the kids are connected and they feel passionate about it."
