In this video I talk about and describe the skull of Panthera leo atrox.

Lions are spectacular to behold. Quite intimately so under the lens of their cranial and dental structure. Panthera leo Atrox, known as the American lion was but one of many species of lions that called Europe and Northern Asia their home. Panther Atrox is distinct in its cranial and body proportions and here I describe a particularly large and charismatic individual. What a superlative panther beast this was.

This specimen is a cast available on Boneclones.com and is also displayed at the Page museum/Tarpits museum in Los Angeles.
