I was browsing eBay a couple months ago when I found this very unusual HO scale locomotive. It appeared someone had converted a Trix "DM3" into a Virginian Railways engine.

Although the paint scheme is quite strange for this type of locomotive I decided to bid on it anyway and ended up winning the auction. Today we find out what exactly it is about.

The locomotive certainly didn't disappoint, having many tricks up its sleeve which were never noted in the listing.
