Fishing frenzy on the river Mersey

Still very much with rays on the brain, I headed once again to Liverpool to fish a spot on the Mersey which has been kind to me over the years. This time I brought my dad along for the ride.

In a similar style to previous session fishing at Brunswick, the flood proved steady fishing with multiple whiting and dabs providing some light entertainment. The final hour of the flood, as usual, kicked off. Dogfish moved in packs picking up whatever baits they could, and finally the rays made an appearance, taking sardine baits I bought from Lidl the night before.

It's a shame we couldn't get dad on to a ray, that would have sealed yet another memorable days fishing for me. It's great to be out with dad again, and even better to put plenty fish on the bank.
