DYA717 Japan Okinawa Yaeyama Islands BURA-BURA August 17, 2024
[Naha Okinawa; Toyoko Inn Okinawa Naha Kokusai-dori Miebashi-eki; San-A Main Place Mall ] This is the last YouTube for this trip. This 3-guys’ trip is a laid-back BURA-BURA look-see around Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa, Japan. Google says Naha today will be 82-90 degrees. 6:30 a.m. breakfast at the Toyoko Inn Okinawa Naha Kokusai-dori Miebashi-eki. We rode the monorail to Omoromachi Station. T-Galleria has Duty Free Shops selling high end designer goods right next to the station. Across the street is a Toyoko Inn. There is a Joyfull Restaurant, a Japanese restaurant chain next door to the Toyoko Inn. A few blocks further is a large shopping Mall call San-A Main Place. Near Main Place, there is another Toyoko Inn across the street. We checked out a little bit of Main Place, then ate lunch at a restaurant there. We selected a Japanese Restaurant and had a hard time with ordering. You have to order via a computer-pad but the English on the pad was not easy to follow. So we called the server and she helped us out. Next door to the San-A Main Place is the Okinawa Prefectural Museum. The building is beautifully architected. Us 3 guys decided we didn’t have time for natural history, art, etc this trip so we passed up visiting it.
We went back to Miebashi-eki (station) on the monorail and went to a DAISO store around the block where we bought some stuff – mostly interesting snacks which we can’t find at home. Then back to the hotel for a little relaxation before dinner.
At 5:15 p.m. we went across from the Toyoko Inn to Izakaya Ryo-ji. Excellent Okinawan cuisine. I would rate this an ONO, ONO, ONO place! Make sure you make reservations.
