We are using a spray can to apply a rust inhibiting primer. This only happens after we’ve already power wash the gates, scraped and sanded, loosen flaking paint, and use the wire wheel attached to a drill to get the really hard spots of rust.

Once we’ve done all the proper prep, we do the step above that you see in the video which is applying the primer by spray can.

Some people like to use a brush some people like to use a roller, but we like to use spray cans, or if the project is large enough I will use an airless sprayer to apply our primer.

 Why a spray can you might ask?

Because the spray gets into hard to reach areas that a brush or roller cannot reach, it also leaves a much nicer finish.

Once we have our rust, inhibiting/red oxide primer completed we allow it to dry according to manufacture specifications for that particular product and we come back to apply to finish with ‪@DunnEdwardsPaints‬ Aristo - Shield, Alkyd, Urethane, semi gloss finish.
