India Canada Tension: Tensions between India and Canada have escalated as India withdraws its envoy and five other officials from Canada, following accusations by Canadian authorities linking Indian diplomats to the investigation into the killing of pro-Khalistan activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In a reciprocal move, India expelled six Canadian diplomats, criticising the Trudeau government for what it called “preposterous” actions motivated by vote-bank politics. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has accused Canada of providing a safe space for extremists and rejected the allegations as baseless. Canadian officials, meanwhile, have cited criminal activity and organised crime connections linked to Indian agents. With both sides standing firm, the diplomatic rift continues to deepen.
