A developer’s life is impossible to imagine without a version control system, and each VCS needs decent tools to handle all related tasks. We believe having great VCS integration within the IDE is essential to being productive, which is why we invest a lot of effort in making both routine and complex tasks easier. But is it at all possible?

In this talk, we’ll look at Version Control integrations in IntelliJ-based IDEs, exploring their history, evolution, current state, and future plans.

Dmitriy has a strong customer support background and joined JetBrains in 2016 as a support engineer in the VCS integrations team. His role has evolved as he gained more experience and took on development tasks. Now, he works as part of the IntelliJ product management team, focusing primarily on VCS.
